Time Of Flight Diffraction (TOFD)

TOFD is an extremely accurate ultrasonic tool in measuring the vertical extent of a defect. TOFD is helpful in verifying real indications from geometric signals, and also more sensitive to volumetric flaws than traditional ultrasonics or Phased Array.  TOFD is best used with another ultrasonic technique such as Phased Array.
